This turquoise mosaic decorative plate is a variation on an earlier mosaic plate I did. The first turquoise plate, which can also be found on this page, is one of my most popular pieces. One day while I was making one of the turquoise plates for one of my favorite customers I stumbled upon this design. I was using a burnt red ceramic plate as the base for the mosaic and once I had gotten the center portion done I sat back and looked at the plate and I just loved the way the turquoise tiles popped out with the burnt red border. At that point I decided to leave the mosaic complete and I chose to grout the tile with a subtle mauve tint. I’m really happy with the final product! I hope you are too! I can’t tell you how long I played with different types of tiles to use for the outer rim of the plate but when I finally decided on the white everything just sort of fell into place. This absolutely beautiful piece is created out of cracked pieces of glass pieced together in a wonderful mosaic at the center of this large round platter. Along the outer edge are just a touch of beautiful speckles with an iridescent glow.. This original freehand design mosaic piece of wall art is made of beautiful hand cut turquoise, pink and silver glass tiles set in bright white grout. I decided to stray from my normal mosaic designs here as I incorporated a lot more white space by way of bright white grout. I normally keep the tiles tightly pressed together side by side. I thought by incorporating the look of the grout ( which I also painted to give it an even fresher appearance) I could bring a different kind of creative look to my line of mosaic plates. These handmade, vibrant designs were some of my favorites to make. It is a mosaic design made with tiny crystal diamond shapes which really catch the light from every different direction. the tiny crystal are mounted on a medium colored wooden base with light colored wooden feet to support the base. I highlighted the crystal chip design with a mini multicolor iridescent tile mosaic. They are truly stunning!
